Bayonetta is een heks... op zich iets waar je een voorstelling bij maakt van een oud rimpelvrouwtje op een bezem, maar die vlieger gaat hier niet op. Bayonetta is een strakke jongedame van 'juiste' proporties. Ze is geen katje om zonder handschoenen aan te pakken en dat is maar goed ook. Haar razendsnelle moves houden haar uit de handen van haar tegenstanders en die bestaan uit butt-ugly demonen en andere gruwels.
Haar bewegingen zijn soepel, lenig en vloeiend... de schade die ze aanricht devastating. De game mag wellicht volstrekt overdreven zijn op het gebied van actie en van geweld; het is wel op en top Japanase styled en doortrokken van een feeling die je zo graag ziet bij dit soort games.

* Hair: Her hair serves as the basis of her costume and also her attacks and powers. These manifest in different ways:
o Wicked Weave attacks - By pulling off the right combos (illustrated by the loading screens), you’ll summon large demon fists and feet to punctuate the combos. Great for fighting bosses and large groups of enemies
o Torture Attacks - Unleash gruesome devices such as the Iron Maiden, Guillotine and more to finish off enemies and send them to hell by charging your Magic gauge.
o Climax attacks -To eliminate the upper ranks of her foes, Bayonetta’s hair serves as a magical conduit to summon demonic beasts.
* Interchangeable weapons
o Upgradeable weapons -In addition to her four enchanted guns called Scarborough Fair, she can unlock an array of weapons from shotguns, bazookas and fiery claws
o Enemy weapons - Bayonetta can also battle with a variety of other weapons retrieved from fallen enemies
o Beast Within - Bayonetta calls upon primal forces, transforming into various beasts (Panthers, etc.) according to the situation.
